A Tasmanian tourism operator is offering up to $1 million worth of vouchers to get locals on to their services.
After Tasmanians snapped up $7.5 million worth of state government travel vouchers in just forty minutes on Monday, local tourism pioneer Rob Pennicott has annouced his company, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, will be providing up to $1 million dollars worth of vouchers to get locals on to their cruises.
“We recognise the accommodation and attraction vouchers provided by state government were so popular and really well received. We would like to give Tasmanians who missed out an opportunity to obtain a $50 voucher to use on our Bruny Island, Tasman Island and Wineglass Bay wilderness cruises,” Pennicott said.
The operator closed down all of its crusies in late March following coronavirus measures at the time. The cruises have since relaunched, with discounted offers for Tasmanians, and now vouchers.

“We are providing a $50 voucher per adult and a $150 voucher per family of up to two adults and three children when directly booking a wilderness cruise via our website.”
Rob Pennicott says he’s grateful for the support the state has shown his company throughout the pandemic.
“We have had incredible support by Tasmanians during this difficult time for the tourism industry and all other sectors and hope this gives more people the opportunity to get out, take a break and explore their backyard,” he continued.
Pennicott Wilderness Journeys vouchers can be obtained until September 30 (or while stock lasts) for cruises up to 1 April 2021.
The PWJ voucher is in the form of a $50 discount on the standard tour price of $145, which can be pre-purchased for $95 and used on their cruises.
PWJ have won numerous awards for eco- and wilderness tourism and is one of the state’s most high-profile tour operators.
