For Kreglinger Wine Estates, the 2017 vintage is proving to be as exciting as predicted, with the iconic Pipers Brook Estate Pinot Noir winning yet another gold medal, this time from the prestigious 2019 Tasmanian Wine Show. And the 2018 vintage is no disappointment, with a gold medal for the Ninth Island 2018 Riesling. Both brands are produced by Pipers Brook Vineyard, under the Kreglinger Wine Estates portfolio.

These results come off the back of 95 points and a gold medal from the 2018 KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show in late 2018 for the same estate Pinot Noir.

Senior Winemaker Luke Whittle says:

“We are really proud of the 2017 Pipers Brook Pinot and the 2018 Riesling and to have our achievement acknowledged with these gold medals is a great reflection of the work our team has put into creating these wines. The timing of this, as we get ready to bottle the 2018 Pipers Brook Pinot, only builds upon our anticipation and excitement knowing we have another excellent vintage to follow.”

Additionally, the Pipers Brook 2018 Gewurztraminer received a silver medal in the same show, supporting the anticipation of this vintage moving forward, with more varietals from 2018 in bottle and preparing for release. The annual Tasmanian Wine Show showcases Tasmanian wines and recognises and rewards the skill and dedication to the quality of Tasmanian grape growers and winemakers. It provides an opportunity for wine producers to compare their wines with other Tasmanian wines.

For wine merchants, wine consumers and wine writers, and the Tasmanian hospitality and tourism industries, the Show highlights the best wines that Tasmania has to offer. Tasmanian locals and interstate visitors will be able to sample these wines alongside many others at the annual Festivale food & wine event on Feb 1st-3rd, and 7 days a week at the Pipers Brook Cellar Door, located at the winery in Pipers Brook.
