Pink Floyd Tribute Band Cancels Israel Shows at Waters’ Request

“Do human rights extend to the indigenous people of Palestine?” Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters asked world leaders earlier this year.

A Pink Floyd cover band from the United Kingdom canceled three of its concerts in Israel at the request of Roger Waters, co-founder of the iconic psychedelic rock band.

The U.K. Pink Floyd Experience was scheduled to perform in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba in Israel, in January.

“To sing my songs in front of segregated audiences in Israel, and contribute to the cultural whitewashing of the racist and apartheid government of that country, would be an act of unconscionable malice and disrespect,” Waters wrote on Facebook Friday. “The people you intend to entertain are executing their neighbour’s children, shooting them down in cold blood every day.” …
