Matt Harvey stuff presents ‘I got bit by a monkey once …’

Matt Harvey is a comedian and writer (Live on Bowen, The Leak, Quiz night). Having previously done many different things, Shakespeare, A child’s musical pirate, puppeteer, physical theatre, he even played a tree once (it was a cool puppet but still).

But after a director told him “You’re really suited to comedy” (the play was not a comedy) it seemed like a comfortable fit. Having toured Australia for many years writing and creating original shows full of observations from the unreliability of memory to the weirdness of choosing to wear a mullet.

After sell out shows in the Melbourne Fringe festival Matt is bringing the storytelling sensation of personal events to the wider world. We’d love to offer you a pair of complimentary tickets for opening night.

I got bit by a monkey once…
5 true stories. A monkey, a bus trip, A fire, An arrest and a mugging.

A storytelling/stand up show. Think of it like ‘Eat, pray, love’ if nobody learned anything significant and all the ‘eat’ part happens in a McDonald’s.

A storytelling show to be taken aurally.

An exploration of stupid choices and hard consequences. If you enjoy feeling better about yourself through schadenfreude then come watch as Matt Harvey makes you feel better about your choices.

“We left laughing, and also wiser about our place in the world.” – The Plus Ones
