One hundred and fifty lucky people from Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne will be the first to fly to Tasmania’s
summer festival, Mona Foma, on one of the nation’s most exclusive airlines, Air Mofo.
Twenty-five people have won a row of seats on Air Mofo for themselves and five members of their posse, plus Three-Day
Festival Tickets for 18-20 January 2019.
Over 7000 competition entrants responded in 25 words or less to: “Why do you and your five fellow Mofos need to party at
Mona Foma in Launceston?”
Successful respondents promised a tortoise ( “Me and my five mates will bring glitter, party vibes, and the biggest tortoise you
have ever seen”), latex (“Because we solemnly swear to arrive in latex jumpsuits and a thick mist of contagious merriment”),
multiple Marios (“We are six plumbers all called Mario, even the women, and we need to get weird”), and solace for some
traumatised Queenslanders: “Mate, we spend our days dodging cyclones, droughts, and Pauline Hanson…we really need
some Tassie Mona Foma loving!”.
The winners will travel from their nearest city (via Melbourne) on Friday 18 January, on a private flight that promises the sort
of in-flight entertainment that can’t be unseen.
For those who missed out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience, there are still Three Day Festival Tickets available for only
$99. That’s one dollar less than a hundred bucks. Faux Mo tickets and day passes will be available from 27 November and
will be snapped up quickly. Tickets and further information can be found at
Mona Foma is being held in Launceston for the first time in 2019 and features an eclectic program of music and art, including
