Independent research confirms young Australians know the difference between enjoying a royal visit and voting for an Australian republic.
In every age group, more people agree that Australia should become a republic with an Australian as head of state than disagree.
And opposition to a republic is weakest among young people.
Just 17 per cent of Aussies 18-24 years old and 15 per cent of Aussies 25-34 are opposed to a republic.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very welcome visitors – and the Invictus Games will be a very inspiring occasion for Australians.
Australians of all ages know the difference between this wonderful event and the questions of our nation’s identity and future.
