Exhibitions
Opening 6pm on Friday:
The Overwintering Project is an environmental art project designed to bring visibility to Australia’s most endangered group of birds – migratory shorebirds – and their habitat.
Artists from all around Australia and New Zealand are joining forces to shed light on these amazing but elusive birds that breed above the Arctic Circle in Siberia and Alaska, but spend their summers on the shores of Australia and New Zealand, making an annual migratory flight of around 25,000 km.
Join us for the opening at 6pm on Friday 26 October.
Project coordinator Kate Gorringe-Smith will also be at MAC for Conversations with the Artists: 1pm Sat 10 Nov. This is a free, casual event where you can meet artists currently exhibiting at MAC and hear more about the stories and inspirations behind their exhibition.
