Governor opens new sexual assault service site

The Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) has moved from Patrick St in Hobart into new, larger and more accessible counselling offices in Tower Rd in New Town.

On Monday 22nd October, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC will officially open the new premises. The opening is also an opportunity for SASS to promote the new service location to Tasmanians affected by sexual violence.

As the 22nd October also marks the scheduled National Apology to Victims and Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse, the opening also presents an opportunity for SASS to discuss the support it can offer to victims and survivors in Tasmania.

What: Official Opening of the new offices and counselling spaces for SASS

Who: Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC; SASS CEO, Jill Maxwell; SASS Chair, Jandy Godfrey.
