Investment in Tasmania is leading the nation according to the latest Deloitte Access Economics Investment Monitor.
Investment in Tasmania has grown by an amazing 32 per cent for the quarter and is up 44 per cent compared to June 2017, with the value of projects in Tasmania jumping by $2.4 billion across the year.
The report notes in total, there are $1.8 billion worth of commercial projects under construction in Tasmania and a further $2.8 billion in the planning stages. Importantly, building approvals have also skyrocketed by 60 per cent over the past year to accommodate the current and future increased investment in Tasmania.
We have created over 14,600 jobs since the 2014 election and these investment figures show why as businesses take advantage of our strong economy and expand, employing more Tasmanians as a result.
It’s no wonder that Tasmanian small to medium business confidence is the highest out of all of the States according to the latest Sensis Business Index, and confirms our long term plan is working to create jobs, grow the economy and improve the lives of Tasmanians.
