Glenorchy City Council will be holding a special meeting at Council Chambers, 374 Main Road, Glenorchy on Monday, 20 August 2018 at 6pm. The purpose of the special meeting is for Council to:
• consider submissions and objections lodged in respect of Council’s proposal to dispose of public land (the Derwent Entertainment Centre) under section 178 of the Local Government Act 1993, and
• make a decision on whether to take any action under section 178 of the Act (i.e. whether to dispose of the Derwent Entertainment Centre).
Glenorchy City Council Mayor Kristie Johnston said she wanted to be very clear what the special meeting was about.
“We are deciding whether we keep or dispose of the DEC. If we decide dispose of the DEC, the matter of when, who to, and on what terms will be considered separately at a future Council meeting” she said.
“We will also consider a petition that has been received regarding the potential sale of the Derwent Entertainment Centre.
The public can attend the special meeting and the agenda will be available on Council’s website and at Council Chambers from Thursday 16 August 2018.
