I have received written advice from the Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet that a Code of Conduct investigation into Minister Ferguson is not warranted.
Ms Gale’s advice is as follows:
“In regard to whether Mr Ferguson’s actions constitute a breach of the Tasmanian Government Ministerial Code of Conduct (March 2018), there is no evidence to suggest that Mr Ferguson has misled the public in relation to statements on this matter. Further there is no evidence to suggest that Mr Ferguson has harassed, victimised or discriminated against Ms Williamson.”
The Police Commissioner yesterday confirmed there would not be a police investigation.
With a Code of Conduct investigation also not warranted I hope that the Labor Party will stop making baseless claims.
