An exciting new Program is being launched for National Reconciliation Week in Tasmania.
Reconciliation Tasmania is partnering with Reconciliation Australia to introduce the Narragunnawali Program for schools and Early Learning Centres in Tasmania with workshops to be held from August 20-22 in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart.
Narragunnawali supports the development of environments that foster a higher level of knowledge and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions with local connections and content as part of it all.
The Narragunnawali platform and website is free to access, and has a range of features including an extensive suite of professional learning and curriculum resources to support the development, implementation and management of Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs), which Reconciliation Tasmania will be supporting organisations in Tasmania to complete. A RAP is a formal statement of commitment to promote reconciliation between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal peoples.
Our young people are the culture carriers of the future and we believe that the Narragunnawali resources and tools can support improved reconciliation outcomes between our youth, their families and schools with their local Aboriginal communities across Tasmania
