 Janet brings a wealth of experience after 25 years as a teacher
 Second term councillor understands challenges faced by the community
 Janet stands for fairness and real representation for each community in Prosser
Veteran school teacher and long term Northern Midlands Councillor Janet Lambert has been confirmed as Labor’s candidate for the Prosser Upper House election.
“Janet spent 25 years teaching Years 11 and 12 and was elected to the Northern Midlands Council in 2011,” Labor Leader Rebecca White said.
“She understands this community, she understands the challenges and she will always fight for what is fair and for what the community needs and deserves.
“She is a fighter who does not give up easily and will always put her community first and I am proud she has put her hand up as Labor’s candidate for Prosser.”
Mrs Lambert said she had knocked on 5,000 doors as a candidate in the recent state election and intended to undertake a similar grass roots campaign for Prosser.
“I’m a mum of three with very strong family values who grew up in Ravenswood and worked in the public education sector for 25 years so I know this community and I know what this community wants,” Mrs Lambert said.
“I understand the challenges regional communities face with unemployment, a lack of facilities and the crisis in the health system and the crisis in housing affordability.
“I bring a grounded approach that only comes from assisting through listening to the concerns of everyday people and working families, which I am doing every day.
“We need a strong voice to fight for infrastructure projects and jobs and we need a strong voice to fight for services in health, which have been neglected by the Liberals.
“I’m particularly passionate about young Tasmanians getting the opportunity to remain in our state with secure jobs and the means to forge meaningful careers.
“I know firsthand how education and opportunity can change lives and, if I am fortunate to be elected, I will always focus on assisting young people to realise their full potential.”
