Ahoy there, all budding Pirates. We’ve decided that every self-respecting maritime museum MUST HAVE A PIRATE DAY. So, it’s time for us to get into the act and go treasure hunting.
Now you may think that there have been no pirates in Tasmanian history. But you would be wrong. We will have a chat about some CONVICT PIRATES (even some that sailed all the way to Japan) and Tasmania’s own movie pirate, ERROL FLYNN.
We are planning an action-packed day. So, come along dressed as a pirate (but there’s no hassle if you don’t). We will have pirate stories, jigsaws and others games, plus colouring –in and activity sheets.
And, of course, we must have a TREASURE HUNT! Your task will be to follow the clues around the museum to see if you can solve the puzzle and find the treasure.
Plus we will have a PIRATE SHIP BATTLE!! Join a pirate ship’s crew to fight off other pirates (all safe of course).
And we will also have one of our volunteers running our COMPUTER SHIP SIMULATOR, so you can use your skill to operate a modern vessel (sorry it won’t be a pirate ship, but it will be fun!).
So practice your pirate accents, feed your parrot, find your best pirate clothes and get ready for action. Aaaaarrrr!
NOTE: Our program is very popular and places are limited, so please call or email us to make a booking very soon. We ask that a guardian accompany young children.
