A leak of more than 13 million files from offshore tax haven providers has exposed rampant tax avoidance by major corporations and wealthy public figures.

Dubbed the “Paradise Papers”, the leak was investigated by 96 media outlets after being passed to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists by German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung. The papers reveal US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross holds a stake in a shipping company that deals with Russian entities part-owned by people close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, potentially violating US trade sanctions against Russia …
