… It’s here in the Tamar – we just need to get rid of it!

You are invited to attend a public meeting at Hillwood on Thursday where representatives of the 3 Tamar Councils, agencies and community groups will discuss the highly invasive weed Serrated Tussock which threatens the grazing industry and our native grasslands.

As well as help with identification the morning will talk about the proactive approach underway with the help of the East Tamar Landcare Group and the Tamar Valley Branch of the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers. They are providing financial and physical on-ground support in Serrated Tussock control.

We see this community driven support response, working co-operatively with the landholders, and land managers as the best way forward in ridding the region of serrated tussock. A story well worth covering!
