Sequenza Ensemble, with Cygnet’s own Helen Thomson singing soprano, will present a delightful program of rarely-heard Christmas carols in the Supper Room, upstairs at the Cygnet Town Hall, on Friday December 15 at 7pm.

The program includes works by Cornelius, Britten, Holst and Darke, with some medieval carols such as “Noel Nouvelet” arranged for Sequenza’s forces by Thomson, whose song cycle Birdsong, written especially for Sequenza earlier this year, premiered during Ten Days on the Island to great acclaim.

The group’s filigree of gentle, old-world timbres, coupled with their leading-edge sensitivity and musicianship, will transport the listener to another time and place – a wonderful escape from the hustle of the Silly Season. A special event, not to be missed
