 Murray Goulburn sells Edith Creek to Dutch Mill
 Labor has been strongly arguing for this result
 Good news for workers and their families

Labor Member for Braddon and Shadow Minister for Primary Industries Shane Broad has welcomed today’s news regarding the sale of the Edith Creek dairy factory to Dutch Mill (Australia) Pty Ltd.

“This is the outcome Labor has been pushing for,” Dr Broad said.

“We have remained confident throughout this whole process that Edith Creek could be sold as a going-concern.

“Rebecca White and I wrote to the board of Murray Goulburn urging them to sell Edith Creek as a fully operational asset and have been talking up the future of the factory at every opportunity.

“Dutch Mill already has a presence in the North West so this is a great result for the Circular Head community.

“The workers at the factory and their families deserve today’s announcement.

“I look forward to meeting with the factory’s new owners as soon as possible to discuss Labor’s vision for dairy and the broader agriculture sector in Tasmania.”
