The Smith Family Christmas Appeal is a worthy cause that helps students in need to succeed at school.
Ensuring disadvantaged children get enough support to get the most out of their education is a goal the Government share’s with the Smith Family, which is why we are kicking off this year’s Appeal with a $1000 donation.
Funds raised through the Appeal will provide scholarships for students in year 7 to 10, college and potentially the first year of tertiary study.
The Smith Family is well known for the success of their Learning for Life program around the state which encourages students to stay engaged with education for longer.
In partnership with Montrose Bay High School, the Smith Family has also rolled out a number of programs including the online mentoring iTrack, Financial Literacy and Our Girls Inc.
The Tasmanian Government is a great supporter of the Smith Family, last year announcing a contribution of $1.6 million over four years to help them continue their good work.
The Smith Family Christmas Appeal aims to raise $3.7 million nationally.
