The second season of the Tasmanian based comedy Rosehaven returns to our screens tonight and I encourage everyone to tune in.
Produced by Australia’s leading comedy production company Guesswork Television, the Hodgman Liberal Government through Screen Tasmania, has invested $500,000 into the second season alongside co-financiers ABC, Film Victoria and Sundance/AMC.
This investment has generated in excess of $1.9 million spent on Tasmanian cast, crew, goods and services, including co-producer Fiona McConaghy and series co-director, Shaun Wilson, who directed four episodes of the second series.
Not only are Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor back for the second season, a number of Tasmanians including Katie Robertson, Kris McQuade and Noela Foxcroft have also returned for series two.
Screen Tasmania supported six training positions for emerging Tasmanian filmmakers to get their first taste on a professional set and nearly 100 Tasmanian cast and crew found employment in the series during filming this year.
The Tasmanian Government is proud to support the second series of Rosehaven which I am sure will help to further strengthen the reputation of Tasmania’s screen industry nationally.
