Students will demonstrate at Parliament lawns on Thursday 19th of October against the
proposals to cut funding to universities and increase the cost of education.

“The senate will be considering whether or not they should rip billions out of the higher
education sector, increase the cost of education and force graduates to repay their debt when
they’re hardly earning more than a cafe worker. The government is committed to giving $1billion
to the Adani group to build a railway but don’t value education. The senate will pushing forward
towards pricing young people out of education if they approve these cuts,” said education officer
Anneke Demanuele.

“We will be demonstrating on Parliament Lawns to show the government that while they
continue to attack students and universities, students will continue to protest against the cuts,”
continued Demanuele.
