 What is preventing the Crown Solicitor examining the email account?
 Whose advice is the Premier relying on when he says the audit can’t go ahead?
 Will the Premier guarantee the audit will be completed before the election?

Premier Will Hodgman has failed to explain why the Crown Solicitor cannot conduct an audit into the business email account of former mining minister Adam Brooks.

Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said the Premier’s excuses simply don’t make sense.

“The Premier cannot explain why the email audit cannot go ahead,” Mr Bacon said.

“None of the personal issues raised by the Premier preclude the Crown Solicitor examining the email account and providing a report to government.

“The audit was supposed to ascertain what Mr Brooks was using the account for when he was minister, not divulge any personal information.

“Don’t forget it was the Premier who agreed to the audit as the official means of determining whether Adam Brooks had breached the protocols specifically put in place to deal with the conflict of interest.

“Any in-house assessment of the decisions Mr Brooks made is irrelevant because the Premier declared an email audit would get to the bottom of what went on.

“It’s Will Hodgman’s credibility on the line as he desperately tries to prevent the audit going ahead.

“The Premier must guarantee this matter will be cleared up before the election.”
