Macquarie Point will host one of Australia’s biggest recreational equipment exhibitions when the
Leisurefest Roadshow rolls into town in this week.

Macquarie Point Development Corporation CEO Mary Massina says the exhibition follows the
huge success of Dark Mofo this year and demonstrates the site is open for business.

“We are excited about the Leisurefest Roadshow being one of our first major expos,” she said.

“Work is being carried out on site with the demolition of the former cold store in preparation for
further development.

“While the work is underway we are working with local and interstate businesses to ramp up the
use of the site,” Ms Massina said.

Macquarie Point will host the event in the SeaRoad shed over three days from Friday, October 13
to Sunday October 15 from 10am to 5pm and till 4pm Sunday.

Leisurefest Roadshow organiser Jeff Leech says Macquarie Point is a great new venue for a show
such as this, as it’s within walking distance of Salamanca and the CBD with plenty of on-site
parking.

“We have been working closely with the Macquarie Point Development Corporation and they have
been great to deal with, they really want the site to be used as much as possible.

“The large indoor area in the pavilion (formerly the SeaRoad shed) and the outdoor sealed area
will house huge displays and demonstration sites for all the top brands of caravans, motorhomes,
camper trailers and accessories,” Mr Leech said.

She said the corporation was looking forward to welcoming a range of great new events in coming
months including theatre shows, a wine launch, a gin festival and a range of national and
international musical acts.
