I note media reporting and political commentary surrounding the tragic death of a seven month old baby.
I understand that some people will seek to make political mileage out of this terrible tragedy but the facts of this case are still unclear and no charges have been laid, therefore, I urge people not to prejudge the outcome of the police and coronial inquiries.
I also wish to reiterate that the recent recommendations from the Coroner relating to the 2012 death of a child under the previous Government have either been completed or are in the process of being actioned, and we have invested an additional $51m in child protection including more child safety workers.
