Lawyers for the Family of Hamed Shamshiripour are demanding that heads roll for his death
Hamed Shamshiripour died a lonely and cruel death thousands of miles away from his family.
Lawyers for his family say that foul play has not been ruled out and they are demanding
1. An assurance that Hamed’s body is being kept in mortuary like conditions
2. An urgent examination of his body by an experienced independent forensic pathologist and the AFP
3. An inquest into his death in Australia;
4. A full judicial enquiry into why Comcare and Border force did not take action to protect Hamed when they knew of his serious illness for at least 12 months; and
5. The repatriation the Hamed’s body to his family in Iran after the autopsy by an independent forensic pathologist has taken place.

Hamed’s death is the inevitable consequence of the bureaucratic enforcement of deterrence policy based on cruelty and punishment. What the family want is for those responsible for his death be held accountable even if that goes all the way to our Prime Minister and the Minister for Immigration.

There is a paper trail in this case which needs to be followed and we will not rest until the family receive justice from our government – no matter how high the officeholder responsible.
