… And despite his lack of a Cabinet position his power base remains undiminished in Tasmania which, frankly, desperately needs leadership and a clearly defined strategy of the Federal Liberal Party hopes to make any inroads on the devastation of the of the last federal election.

On a national scale, to have any chance of winning the next election, the PM must engage with the party’s conservative base and hold onto the people they are losing. There is one person who could effectively provide that link.

It would be a wise decision for the PM to return Senator Abetz to the inner circle.
