The Tasmanian Greens are excited to announce that Scott Jordan will be the lead candidate for the seat of Braddon at the upcoming State election due in March.

Scott has grown up and worked in the Braddon electorate. He lived his early years in Zeehan before attending secondary school at Burnie High. Before becoming an environmental campaigner, Scott worked for fifteen years in community development and as a youth worker. He has worked for the last twelve years running the campaign to protect the Tarkine for current and future generations.

Scott currently lives in Burnie. He is a passionate campaigner for Tasmania’s special places, especially those in the NW. Scott is well aware that it is natural places like the Tarkine that people from all around the world want to experience but which are being lost to destructive forces. He will be a passionate member of parliament for our natural areas and for the jobs and opportunities associated with them.

“We have seen the opportunities and excitement in places like Cradle Mountain and Freycinet National Park. The Tarkine, if given secure protection will do the same thing for Smithton, Stanley, Wynyard and Waratah,” said Mr. Jordan.

Voters will be faced with a stark choice at this election. They can opt for the business as usual models from the old parties or vote for Scott Jordan and The Greens for a future based around our natural advantages.
