The latest computer scam is quite an eye opener, and you have to laugh…
With computers being locked up, some are paying to have their computers unlocked, rather than risk loosing their data.
In these instances they, the computer hackers, are very helpful.
Brian Lord, managing director of cyber and technology at cyber security firm PGI, said victims had told him
“the customer service provided by the criminals is second-to-none”, with helpful advice on how to pay.
:-)”One customer said they actually forgot they were being robbed.” 🙂
Companies and governments spent the weekend upgrading software to limit the spread of the virus.
Monday was the first big test for Asia, where offices had already mostly been closed for the weekend before the attack first arrived.
The Federal Government confirmed yesterday that eight Australian businesses had “likely” been affected by the ransomware:

I certainly hope you’re updating your computer regularly and haven’t been caught up in the scam which appears to arrive by email…
and if opened can lock your computer….
