Treasurer big on spin, light on detail
Treasurer Peter Gutwein continues to refuse to release any modelling to back up his claims relating to the takeover of TasWater.
Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said it’s increasingly obvious that the Government has no evidence to show the work schedule can be condensed to a five year period.
“The Treasurer can’t prove he can do the work within five years,” Mr Bacon said.
“Peter Gutwein has not been able to produce one shred of modelling to back up his claims.
“The promise to do the work in five years is at the heart of the Government’s takeover but it’s not backed up with evidence.
“Instead the Government points to political documents that are big on spin and light on detail.
“If the Treasurer believes he can complete the work in five years, he needs to back it up with modelling.”
