Department of Education document reveals a $84.4 million cut over two years
Minister Rockliff celebrating a massive reduction in funding
Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff is celebrating what amounts to a $84.4 million cut to Tasmanian schools over the next two years.
A Federal Department of Education document obtained by the Australian Education Union reveals the difference between the Turnbull Government’s commitment to education and the original promise .
“It would appear Tasmanian schools are set to be ripped off to the tune of $84.4 million over the next two years.
“The Federal Government committed to a funding model that would have delivered an additional $100 million to Tasmanian schools over the next two years.
“Instead the Liberals have announced an inferior package, cheered on by State Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff.
“How can Minister Rockliff celebrate a $84.4 million cut over two years?
“The Minister should be fighting for more education funding, not welcoming less.”
