 Will Hodgman met with Christopher Pyne over AMC on February 14
 Premier did nothing to guarantee a good outcome for Launceston
 South Australian investment will undermine the AMC

Premier Will Hodgman has revealed he knew about the Federal Government’s plan to undermine the Australian Maritime College six weeks before it became public but did nothing.

Deputy Labor Leader Michelle O’Byrne said the Premier failed to get a good outcome for the AMC.

“The Premier has admitted he met with Christopher Pyne about the Maratime College on Valentine’s Day but took no action to change the mind of the Federal Government,” Ms O’Byrne said.

“Why didn’t Will Hodgman intervene to get a good outcome for the AMC instead of letting it be undermined by the Turnbull Government.

“The Premier should have used his advanced knowledge to advocate for the AMC and deliver an outcome that ensured $25 million would not be used to set up a potential competitor.

“He should have at least guaranteed the AMC led training at any new school.

“Make no mistake, the Federal Government’s plans for South Australia are bad news for Tasmania.

“The Premier has obviously decided his secret Valentine’s Day chat with Christopher Pyne is more important than standing up for Tasmania.

“For once it would be nice if the Premier put his allegiances to Tasmania ahead of his loyalties to the Liberal Party.”
