 Promised beds in Southern Tasmania not operational
 Minister caught out misleading the public
 Hodgman Government failing to respond to hospital crisis

Health Minister Michael Ferguson has been caught out misleading Tasmanians over a promise of additional hospital beds in Southern Tasmania.

Labor Leader Rebecca White said it’s been confirmed none of the beds are operational.

“The Health Minister has been caught out badly misleading Tasmanians,” Ms White said.

“The Liberal Government has been relying on its promise to open 27 beds in the south when asked how it will respond to the crisis in our hospital system.

“It’s now been confirmed that they aren’t even operational yet.

“The Minister is prepared to mislead Tasmanians over new hospital beds, while the Premier refuses to even become involved.

“Patients and staff in our hospital system deserve much better.”
