The picturesque Derwent Valley in Southern Tasmania is emerging as the next go-to destination for local and interstate tourists with the launch of a new website and campaign for the region.

Local business and tourism operators in the area have banded together to define and promote the Derwent Valley Tasmania brand, complete with a new destination video and website.

“We drove down the valley fourteen years ago and realised that it was as beautiful and diverse as anything we’d seen anywhere in the world,” owner and operator of local businesses Woodbridge on the Derwent and Truffle Lodge, Laurelle Grimley, said.

Ms. Grimley is one of the many local business owners who have been part of the creation of the Derwent Valley Tasmania branding initiative to promote the region as the ideal destination for tourists wishing to sample the best that our island state has to offer.

While the Derwent Valley is already a popular day destination for foodies, antique-hunters, and adventurers, Derwent Valley Tasmania is promoting the valley as an ideal base for exploring all of Southern Tasmania.

Ms. Grimley said the Derwent Valley has something to offer everyone.

“We have incredible food and produce, award winning wineries, breathtaking scenery and incredible heritage buildings and history, plus the whole area is one huge adventure tourism hub,” she said.
