The Tasmania state government is about to launch the Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme (TEELS) which will make no-interest loans available to households and businesses wanting to invest in energy efficiency technology*.
Come to this free information evening organised by the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Alliance, with assistance from Tamar NRM, to find out about available technologies and talk to the experts.
Topics to be covered include:
Saving money vs saving energy: understand your bill, tariff options and energy monitoring services.
Solar PV: is it worthwhile, should I be adding batteries?
Solar hot water: evacuated tube hot water versus heat pump hot water.
Solar diverters: using your excess solar electricity to heat water.
Going off-grid: does it make sense?
Solar Roof Heat Recovery: a system that can access free, filtered solar-heated air from roof cavities on bright days to reduce the need for traditional heaters. These systems are often bundled with heat transfer systems.
Energy efficient lighting: cost and benefits of moving to LED lighting.
TREA members will provide short introductions to each of the above topics and other services they offer. Most of the evening will be devoted to one-to-one discussions so you can follow up on the topics of most interest to you.
Launceston: 5:30-7:30pm, Tuesday 4 April, West Tamar Council, Eden Street, Riverside (parking available)
Hobart: 5:30-7:30pm, Wednesday 5 April, Talbot Hotel, 131 New Town Road, New Town (parking at rear)
