Tasmania’s State Growth Minister has denied any knowledge of a photo being deleted from his Facebook account, in which he is posing with the proponent of Hobart’s cable car development.
The photo of Matthew Groom and Adrian Bold campaigning ahead of the 2014 state election was on the MP’s official Facebook page.
The Mount Wellington Cable Car (MWCC) chief executive was wearing a “Vote One Groom” badge on his T-shirt.
The Opposition said the post was deleted in January or February this year.
On February 25, the Government announced plans to compulsorily acquire land on Hobart’s Mount Wellington to help facilitate the construction of the cable car.
The much-discussed project was stalled in approval processes by the Hobart City Council and Mr Groom announced plans to introduce legislation to acquire the land needed.
Opposition spokesman Scott Bacon believed Mr Groom had some explaining to do.
