Unemployment down under Hodgman Liberal Government

Today’s ABS figures show that there are now 3000 more Tasmanians in jobs since the state election, and the unemployment rate has dropped from over eight percent under Labor and the Greens to 6.5 per cent under the Hodgman Government.
At 6.5 percent our unemployment rate is now lower than both South Australia and Western Australia, and the unemployment queue is the shortest since September last year.
While the opposition has been constantly throwing rocks from the sidelines, we have been getting on with the job of addressing unemployment and creating jobs.
The Government will continue to implement our long term Plan for Tasmania which is focused on economic growth and job creation.
Peter Gutwein, Treasurer
