Documents obtained under freedom of information laws reveal that Northern Territory corrections staff violated procedures governing the use of tear gas – also known as CS gas – when they deployed it against a group of teenagers in the now infamous incident at Don Dale Youth Detention Centre in 2014. This finding contradicts government claims that its use of tear gas in Don Dale was justified. John Power reports.
