Latest report shows Tasmania has the cheapest power prices

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to keeping Tasmanian electricity prices at their lowest possible level.
The latest Tariff Tracking Project produced by the St Vincent de Paul Society and Alviss Consulting shows the cheapest electricity bills are in Tasmania and the ACT.
The report looked at a family household consumption of 6000 kilowatt hours and Tasmanian households were paying up to $500 less than South Australia.
Since the 2014 State election, power prices have fallen by 2.4 per cent under a majority Liberal Government.
Under Labor and the Greens, power prices rose by 65 per cent in seven years.
Additionally, a report published by the independent Australian Energy Market Commission last week indicated that power prices in Tasmania are likely to continue to fall by an additional 0.6 per cent over the next two years resulting in Tasmania having the lowest power prices in the nation by 2018-19.
Scott Bacon’s claims to the contrary are not backed up by the facts and are just another example of a lazy Labor opposition that has scant regard for the truth.
