Dear All,

Our friends down the coast, No Fish Farms in Tasmania’s East Coast Waters ( http://marineprotectiontas.com/ ), have requested that I circulate the below information. They are rallying as many people as possible to attend this very important meeting.

COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY 22 NOVEMBER 5PM

On Tuesday the 22nd of November at 5pm, The Glamorgan Spring Bay Council is holding the second last meeting of the year at Triabunna Council Chambers.

You can read the agenda here:

http://gsbc.tas.gov.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/2016_11_22-Special-Meeting-Agenda.pdf

We know that Council thinks many of us do not care about the approval of a massive jetty and infrastructure to service an industrial fish farm just 7kms from Maria Island. To give you some idea of the size of the Jetty, Brooke Street Pier is 80 metres long; the Jetty that Tassal and Spring Bay Seafoods want to build is over 190 metres long!

Please come and show the GSBC Council that the community is watching.

Those details again:

Date: Tuesday, 22 November
Time: 5pm
Where: Triabunna Council Chambers, 9 Melbourne Street, Triabunna

On a side note – also on the agenda is a “Confidential Item (Closed Session) The Mayor will declare the meeting closed to the public in order to discuss the reappointment of the General Manager.”
