Bryan Green has finally confessed that the Labor-Green Government used the carbon tax to prop up the State Budget.
In a Public Accounts Committee hearing, Mr Green said that during the carbon tax period, Hydro “…actually propped our budget up”.
After denying it for years, Mr Green has finally come clean and admitted he ripped thousands of dollars out of the pockets of Tasmanians to cover up his Government’s woeful budget mismanagement.
At the same time, he put Tasmania’s energy security at risk by lowering the prudent water storage levels to just 25 percent.
Having selectively leaked advice he received in Government Mr Green must now also release all advice he received from Hydro and Treasury in relation to the carbon tax and prudent water levels.
Mr Green can’t have it both ways – he can’t on the one hand leak advice he received in relation to the Tamar Valley Power Station, but not release advice he received about the impact of chasing the carbon tax on water storage levels.
