The Annual Walk Together Event will begin on Saturday 22nd October 2016 at 11.00 am in Princes Park in Battery Point and finishing at 12.30 pm on The Lawns at Parliament House.
In 2015 over 25,000 people Walked Together in Australia to celebrate Australia’s diversity with more than 500 walking in Hobart. In 2016 we will again be part of this nationwide
annual celebration, which is now in its 4th year.
In 2016, Walk Together will take place in more than 20 cities and regional centres all around Australia, on the same day, at the same time.
Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, Kate Warner is Hobart’s patron this year and will be joined by Andrew Wilkie MP, Cassie O’Connor MP, Elise Archer MP, Mayor of Glenorchy, Kristie Johnstone and other members of the Tasmanian community.
The event will be MC’s by John Kamara, himself a refugee from Sierra Leone. The pro-ceedings will close at 12.30pm
