This year for Mental Health Week there has been unprecedented support from local councils and community groups. More and more Tasmanians are becoming aware of the importance of maintaining their mental health as part of their overall health and wellbeing
Tomorrow’s calendar of events is no exception with a wide array of activities for all ages. For anyone living in Kingborough Council area there are so many engaging and interesting activities on every day this week.
MHCT CEO, Connie Digolis is particularly impressed with Kingborough’s commitment to improving mental health in their community.
“When I saw the huge list of events and activities happening in Kingborough I was blown away. They are covering everything from yoga and mindfulness to workshops around building resilience in children or trying a new gym class. It’s a really positive step from this council who clearly want to see their residents try out new things that will help them improve and maintain their mental health”, said Ms Digolis.
Representatives from MHCT will be attending a great event in Hobart tomorrow on Parliament Lawns at 12pm, hosted by Colony 47’s Mara House. ‘Good Vibes on the Green’ is a youth focused event including the creation of a community art piece that will be displayed at Mara House, food trucks and live entertainment.
