Tasmania has received its best report card in nearly five years, according to CommSec’s latest “State of the States” report.

Tasmania’s annual retail growth now leads all of the States and is just shaded by the ACT as the leading jurisdiction in the country in terms of annual growth of retail trade according to Commsec’s latest State of the States report.

According to Commsec, “The Tasmanian economy has improved over the past quarter in relative terms. Population growth is close to the fastest annual pace seen in five years. Both home loans and home prices are lifting.”

Furthermore they said:

“fourth ranked on two indicators and fifth on three indicators”

“Annual growth on home lending is strongest in the nation at 10.3 per cent”

“Population growth is close to the fastest annual pace seen in five years”, and

“Both home loans and home prices are lifting”.

But, there is still a long way to go.

That’s why we are continuing to deliver our long term Plan so that we can support more economic growth and more jobs, for all Tasmanians.
