Only launched on October 12th ~

The planned space nation of Asgardia swiftly reached its target of 100,000 citizens and is now gunning for a million.

Attracting 341,213 and more citizens in only 5 days, we can but wonder if ten million will sign up for a future in space before the end of the year.

“There is clearly a great thirst for adventure out there, among people on Earth going cabin crazy as they see the stars and wonder why we aren’t there yet.” Mr Peart, the director of Space Pioneers, said.

Space Pioneers have issued an invitation to Asgardia to work on building a model of the proposed city in space, in the virtual world.

For many years Space Pioneers have been exploring how the virtual world can be put to work to build a space community, which anyone can participate in via avatars, with no cost for basic access, though funds are needed to build an idea.

If Asgardians pick up this offer, they would be able to go into the virtual world every day to participate, connect with others globally, hold meetings, set up displays, build models and own an apartment in a virtual orbital space settlement, just like the one that can be built in space.

“Robots can be used and trained in the virtual world, which may one day work as a real robot in space.” Mr Peart said.

Ten million and more Asgardians could participate in the virtual world, demanding action, participating in research and development, and driving investment.

“Using the virtual world, Asgardians will be able to meet globally to plan local action toward building a celestial future.” said Mr Peart.

Space Pioneers shares many of the views of the founders of Asgardia, which we recently outlined in our Star Seed Project ~

WHAT WILL SPACE DEVELOPMENT DO FOR THE PEOPLE OF EARTH?

By securing a sustainable industrial presence beyond Earth, there will be no further cost to Earth, where the return on the investment from across the Solar System and among the stars, will be infinite.

A stellar economy built on the free energy of the Sun in space, will generate the level of wealth that can make poverty history.

With an industrial presence in space, it will be possible to build Earth’s defences against asteroids, which can if large enough end human civilization on Earth, just like the reign of the dinosaurs was terminated by an asteroid 66 million years ago.

With access to the unlimited power of the Sun in space, we will have the level of energy needed to extract excess carbon from the air of Earth and avoid dangerous changes to the Earth as CO2 rises.

With industry in space, we will be able to build a sunshade in space to cool the Earth, which can double as a solar power collector.

By building new land in orbital space settlements and expanding beyond Earth, old tensions can be reduced on Earth, helping to build peace on Earth.

Peace on Earth will be needed, to improve security in space, which can be achieved by using the bounty of space to deliver a healthy and creative life for all Earth’s children.

By moving heavy industry into space, there will be less pressure on Earth’s environment, where a slow Earth movement can emerge, where airships that can reach any location on Earth may replace jet planes and cargo ships.

Travelling fast will happen in space, across the Solar System and toward the stars.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE STAY IN THE CRADLE?

With all our eggs in one Earthly nest, a good strong solar wind from the Sun could blow us out of life’s tree.

With no arks in space, we have no second chance if a catastrophe strikes the Earth.

With all our focus on Earth, we risk global conflict that can slide into nuclear madness.

WHAT HAPPENS WITH VIRTUAL WORLDS

Communication by typing or voice with other avatars.

Holding meetings with participants from anywhere on Earth.

Setting up displays in virtual galleries, which can work like a 4-dimensional website.

Having a house or apartment to decorate.

Buying clothes, goods or houses created by other users on the virtual world market place.

Building models of anything that might be created in real life, such as an orbital space station.

Working with robots that could one day be real robots.

Developing virtual world copies of real world galleries, including their current exhibition.

WHAT IS NEARLY HAPPENING WITH VIRTUAL WORLDS

Real estate companies are using virtual reality as a way to sell houses.

People will be able to try clothing on in a virtual world store, with an avatar that is the same dimensions as them, make a purchase and have it shipped.

Allow a paraplegic to experience movement and life, along with brain-control robotics, an approach that is proving to be a healer ~

THE FUTURE OF VIRTUAL WORLDS

The development of headsets like the Oculus Rift is opening the way for a much more immersive experience of virtual worlds.

Second Life is currently refining a more advanced version of the virtual world, which will be open for use next year.

VIRTUAL WORLD TECHNOLOGY IN REAL LIFE

VR headsets like the Oculus Rift can also be used for remote viewing.

Norwegian Army tank drivers have been using the Rift to see where they are going.

VR headsets will allow a user to see from a drone flying.

VR headsets could be used to see through the eyes of a mini robot in space.

AN INVITATION TO ASGARDIANS ON THE FACEBOOK SITE ~
https://www.facebook.com/asgardia.space/

Asgardia has sparked a wildfire of the imagination, and the flames are not dying down. Will ten million people join? That would be a powerful message. Asgardians who want to start building the future, can do so now, using the virtual worlds, like Second Life. Scientists use models. Engineers use models. Architects use models. Asgardians can also build a model of Asgardia, in the virtual world. Connect daily via an avatar, own an apartment in a virtual orbital space settlement like the one that can be built in space, hold meetings, thrash out problems, set up displays, and work with robots that may one day work in space. This option is available now, at no cost for basic access, but to do work, funds are needed. Space Pioneers have been working on this option for many years, figuring out how to make it work, as a stepping stone to the high frontier. Anyone who would like to start living the dream and building a space community, contact me, come into Second Life, and see what can happen. Ten million people could participate in a virtual space community, demanding action, driving investment, and working in real life to build Asgardia. The virtual world offers a way to connect globally to plan local action toward creating a celestial future. Start creating Asgardia today, to be there tomorrow. ~ Kim Peart ~ Director ~ Space Pioneers ~
