The Government is seeking a new Anti-Discrimination Commissioner for Tasmania.
The current Commissioner Ms Robin Banks was reappointed in July 2015, at the end of her initial 5-year appointment, for an additional period of 18 months in order to finalise several key projects.
Since her original appointment in 2010, Commissioner Banks has made significant contributions to discrimination law and the promotion and protection of Tasmanians’ rights.
She has also improved community awareness of discrimination and encouraged public debate about equity and fairness.
The Government thanks Ms Banks for her passionate and dedicated service.
Advertisements for the position have been placed in Tasmanian newspapers and The Australian today ( 8 October 2016 ).
