A seriously ill boy from Carlton River will find out his cherished wish to “go on all the rides at the Gold Coast” will come true this weekend, when Make-A-Wish volunteers hold a special wish presentation.
Nine-year-old Rex, is going to get the surprise of a lifetime when local super heroes arrive in the Dodges Ferry Fire Truck to present him with his wish.

Rex will find out the theme parks he’ll be visiting, while surrounded by family, friends, and some of his favorite comic book characters.

Every day, six families around Australia receive the devastating news that their child has a life-threatening medical condition. Since 1985 Make-A-Wish has granted more than 8000 wishes to very sick kids around Australia.

Receiving no government funding, Make-A-Wish relies on the support of the community to make wishes come true.

The Make-A-Wish Hobart Volunteer Branch is the largest branch in Tasmania, and has been granting wishes since for more than 10 years. They have over 30 members covering the greater Hobart area.
