SUPPORT for the Greens has dropped by more than one quarter in just six months, according the latest EMRS poll of state voting intentions.
The level of support enjoyed by the Greens has dropped from 21 per cent of those surveyed in May this year to 15 per cent in the latest poll, which was released today.
The result is just clear of the low of 14 per cent recorded by the party at the March 2014 state election.
The State Government recorded an increase in support from 37 per cent to 41 per cent over the past three months, reversing a declining trend evident since November last year, while support for the Labor party was down one percentage point over the same period.
Greens leader Cassy O’Connor acknowledged the poll result but said her party would continue to stick to its message.
“It’s pretty disappointing. You can’t take these polls too seriously, but I recognise that we’re going to have to keep on working hard, we’re going to have to keep on representing those Tasmanians who want a strong Green voice in the parliament and we will keep doing that,” she said.
