TasWater has lifted the Stage 3 water restrictions in Colebrook as the water levels in the Yarlington
Dam have returned to a suitable level.
Monitoring of the dam inflow has continued since the restrictions were upgraded in April, with data
showing the catchment has received favourable rainfall during the past month now making
restrictions unnecessary.
“Colebrook was the last Tasmanian town on water restrictions. We are happy to be in a position
where our data shows the surety levels across the state are sufficient to meet the needs of the
communities we service,” Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dean Page, said.
“Although winter has begun, and rainfall starts to become more common place each day, we still
encourage water conservation practices where possible to ensure we are ready for the next
summer.
“Adopting simple changes during the winter period, such as not running the kitchen tap while
peeling vegetables or making sure you have a full load of washing before turning your machine on,
will help to make them a habit by the time the warmer weather approaches.”
