This Saturday 18 June, Greens candidate Jen Brown is literally “running for Denison”. Jen will be the first political candidate to run the entire length of the Denison electorate (approx 35-40Km) during an election campaign and she will be joined by crowd of supporters.

Jen’s run will start at the corner of Hall Street and Collinsvale Road in Collinsvale at 7am Saturday 18th and end at Kingston Dog Beach car park at approximately 12:30pm.

Jen sees the run as an opportunity for Hobartians to physically demonstrate their support for positive action from the federal government on climate change.

Jen said “many people in Hobart remember my ‘Run for the Climate Council’ last year, 160 km in 48 hours through Tasmania’s South-west. This time they can join me by running through Hobart together”

“The old parties in this election, funded by donations from fossil fuel industries, don’t want to talk about climate change so it’s time for Hobart to get innovative about how we get the message across. The Greens are the only party in this election with a clear vision and plan to move from coal to renewable energy.”

There will be an opportunity for photos and media comments at Cenotaph, Regatta Grounds at 9:30am Saturday (approximately half way through the run).

Jen has also produced a Facebook video which has more than 150 shares and 13,000 views, viewable at https://www.facebook.com/JenGreens/videos/914358098675543/
