Julian Punch. First published February 18
A year ago I started to work with a Great Friend Judy Tierney to write my story as a Priest.
I never really have had an opportunity to explain to my Family my resignation from the Church and the matters of ‘public interest’ that preceded it.
I know it was a difficult time for my Family but was always comforted by Mum’s deep understanding of my reasons, despite my failings.
I was encouraged to ‘make a difference’ for the many people damaged by the abuse, persecution and exclusion by the Church of minority and gender groups. Also my own deep spirituality and commitment to human rights.
Island Magazine http://islandmag.com/pages/subscribe (or the Facebook page) has included one part of my story as the lead article in the next issue 144 “The Curious Case of Fr Punch’s Arrest”.
I hope you have an opportunity to purchase and read the Article which will be in bookshops in two weeks or by becoming a subscriber to this important Tasmanian Magazine.
In the meantime I am completing the writing of the book with the great help of Judy and Bob Casey.
